Vale Appoints former minister Retno as New Independent Commissioner
JAKARTA – PT Vale Indonesia Tbk (INCO) held an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (RUPSLB) today (Tuesday, 14 January, 2025), where shareholders approved the appointment of Retno Lestari Priansari Marsudi as the new Independent Commissioner.
Retno is a former Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting was conducted physically at the Jasmine Room, Soehanna Hall, The Energy Building, and electronically through the eASY.KSEI application, adhering to Financial Services Authority (OJK) regulations.
The appointment of Marsudi is effective from the close of the RUPSLB until the closing of the company’s Annual General Meeting of Shareholders in 2027. She replaces Dr. Ir. Raden Sukhyar, who was honorably discharged from his position as Independent Commissioner, Vale said in the statement.
Shareholders also granted Sukhyar a full release from responsibility for his actions during his tenure, provided those actions were recorded in the company’s records and financial statements and were not criminal or in violation of applicable laws.
The Board of Directors and Commissioners expressed their gratitude to Dr. Ir. Raden Sukhyar for his contributions and dedication to the company.
