Singapore Iron Ore Forum to Address Market Transformation in 2025
Singapore – The Singapore Iron Ore Forum (SIOF) will take place on May 28, 2025, at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre, bringing together iron ore producers, traders, steel manufacturers, investors, and technology experts to address the most pressing challenges in the iron ore industry. This event, part of the Singapore International Ferrous Week, is co-organized by SGX Commodities and S&P Global Commodity Insights.
The forum will address the significant transformation of the Asian iron ore market due to shifting demand in China, growing needs in India and Southeast Asia, and an increase in global supply. The focus on high-grade ore, recycling, and electric arc furnaces for green steel are also reshaping market dynamics. - Future of Iron Ore Demand: Panels will examine China’s shifting demand, rising trends in India, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East, and the challenges of meeting high-grade iron ore demand.
- Supply Chain Insights: Presentations will cover new frontiers in iron ore mining, export volumes, supply trends, and future-proofing bulk shipping.
- Iron Ore in the Green Economy: Discussions will center on low carbon supply chains, the impact of green steelmaking, direct reduced iron (DRI), and innovations in iron ore processing.
